Useful if: choose it if you want a lightweight niacinamide ampoule with a watery jelly texture rather than a heavier cream or oil based serum.
The blue colour comes from guaiazulene, an azulene derivative. Mamonde also lists chamomile flower water and 4% niacinamide in the formula.
The brand notes that the blue colour can shift with temperature and light because of azulene. That colour change is a characteristic of the formula rather than a reason to judge the product by appearance alone.
The niacinamide concentration is 4%, lower than the 10% level used by some dedicated niacinamide serums. The product is therefore better compared by its whole formula and texture rather than by percentage alone.
It also contains fragrance, so shoppers who specifically avoid fragranced leave on products should check the current ingredient list before buying.
Use it as a leave on serum or ampoule after cleansing and lighter toner steps, then follow with moisturiser. The watery jelly texture is designed to melt down as it is spread over the skin.
If you already use another niacinamide serum, there is usually little reason to duplicate the same routine role unless you prefer this formula or texture.
