How is this different from a normal lip balm?
The texture is positioned as a serum style treatment in a squeeze tube rather than a traditional wax stick. It can be applied lightly during the day or in a thicker layer before bed.
The formula still relies heavily on emollient ingredients to coat and soften the lips, so the PDRN branding does not change its basic role as a leave on lip product.
What should you know about the formula?
The ingredient list includes sodium DNA alongside rice bran oil, macadamia oil, allantoin, hibiscus extract, lactic acid and pyruvic acid. Boots lists sodium DNA at 0.01% in its current ingredient information.
Because the formula includes exfoliating acids, avoid layering it thoughtlessly with several other strong lip exfoliation products. Stop use if the lips become persistently irritated.
When should it be used?
Apply whenever the lips feel dry or use a more generous layer overnight. It is not an SPF product, so it does not replace a lip sunscreen when sun protection is needed.
